Cotillion History
In 1997 J. D. Kellum and Jeff Paramore created the first Atlanta Cotillion Ball to provide a creative and unique opportunity to raise awareness as well as funds for the HIV/AIDS community.
In 2002, a committed group of volunteers, led by John McGuirk, reorganized the Atlanta Cotillion to maximize the fundraising potential of this unique event. In 2004, the leadership responsibilities were passed to Edward Holifield, Harrison Perry and Greg Whitmire. The years 2006 through 2007 welcomed growth and fundraising success with Co-Chairs Edward Holifield and Greg Whitmire. With the retirement of Greg Whitmire in 2008, Edward Holifield assumed his final year in the leadership role of the organization and welcomed Bryon Brown and Darrell Burke as Vice-Chairs. In 2009, Bryon Brown and Darrell Burke assumed the roles of Co-Chair. Their shared vision will enhance and grow the event while remaining true to its founding traditions.
